Free Rider Book Review

Free Rider was a book I picked up because of the fascinating title and description.

The book was a very good read. Looking back, I cannot believe that the guy actually managed to rob so many people blind right here in Canada!

The book reads more like a brilliantly composed work of the imagination but it actually did happen.

The book also highlights the many risks of trusting someone else to manage your money. So if you have your money in hedge funds or mutual funds, perhaps your money might not be as safe as you think it is.

Of course the chance of a complete theft of funds such as this guy did is almost zero, but it is still reassuring for me to know that I have 100% of my funds invested by myself for myself.

I am taking full accountability for my monetary results. If I lose money, I have no one to blame but myself. If I make money, I give myself a pat on the back.

Perhaps this is something to think about if you are relying too heavily on other to manage your money.

And if you want to read a great tale on how someone tricked innocent investors eager to earn significant returns, this book is for you!
